Neutrogena - 2020 Tarot Cards Aid
Challenge
Develop a set of humorous Tarot cards using the 2020 pandemic as a darkly comedic theme. The cards needed to be topical and relevant to the events of that time, while still connecting to the traditional archetypes and meanings of classic Tarot in a modern way.
Solution
I designed a strikingly modern Tarot deck, intended for use as both a mobile app and a physical card game. The theme incorporates prominent figures and events from the 2020 pandemic (such as President Trump's or Boris Johnson's poor handling of the COVID-19 crisis), reimagining them within the context of traditional Tarot archetypes. The design aesthetic departs from the traditional mystical imagery, opting for a more contemporary and impactful visual style.
