Design a poster about Ernest Shackleton's Antarctic expedition (specifically his 1915 ordeal when his ship was trapped in ice for over a year) that stands out from typical historical imagery and timelines. The poster needed to capture the remarkable story of his leadership and survival against all odds.
Solution
To offer a fresh perspective on this well-known story, I chose a playful and humorous approach instead of relying on traditional sepia-toned images and factual recitations. Inspired by the imagery of my severely frosted freezer, I created a series of comical yet engaging scenes depicting Shackleton's expedition. The poster focuses on the core narrative, using concise text to draw the viewer in and encourage them to learn more.
