Edexcel IGCSE
Challenge
Edexcel, an educational exam board, challenged several design agencies to create a new campaign for their International GCSE (IGCSE) program. The campaign needed to be applicable across various printed materials, including classroom resources, posters, and banners. Working within Edexcel's brand guidelines, the design had to be self-contained and embody the core aim of transforming the learning experience.
Solution
I developed multiple design concepts for Edexcel, ultimately focusing on the theme "Changing the Learning Landscape." This concept involved constructing literal landscapes using subject-specific classroom materials. For example, geography would feature a mountainous backdrop made from folded maps, while mathematics would utilise calculators and rulers to create a city skyline. These elements could also be combined to represent core themes. This approach visually emphasized the tools students use, symbolising their ability to shape and develop their learning. My concept resonated strongly with Edexcel and was selected for global implementation.
